:-) POPT When my son David was 8 or 9 and was playing baseball (we later found out football was his strong sport) I introduced him to Power of Positive Thinking. He had problems hitting the ball. He was a great catcher, but couldn't bat.

We started writing POPT everywhere...even on his arm so he could see it. It worked in a lot of areas of his life but not batting.

Later...say 5 or 6 years later during an eye exam. We found out he had a lazy left eye. Doc said there is no way he could hit the ball and explained that when the ball got to a certain point..say 20 feet away from him. He couldn't see it. We had always been telling him to keep his eye on the ball. He was! The good eye!

Point of story LOL. Now, at 21 when I'm telling him ALL the reasons NOT to join the Air Force he is saying I'm being negative and to remember POPT! I however feel his is just looking at this adventure with just one eye!

Love,
Debbie

The Universe has a funny way of sending us messages. You Are Loved!

What a great story, and synchronicity....There are no coincidences, this happened for a purpose.

My wife and I don't do Valentines Day either, in fact she said, nahh don't waste money, I know you love me.

I think that's the Japanese coming through... they believe, why say something that is already known... But she is partially Americanized and says I love you too, when I initiate it.

I love the new design, very soothing. Have A Blessed Day. We are so lucky to have another day on this wonderful planet.

Take Care

and much Love

Deb, you really are a sweetheart in so many ways. Giving the yellow rose to your neighbor was awesome. You make me want to strive to be as nice as you are. It has been a blessing having you as a friend. I'll bet your neighbor feels the same way.

Like Charles, I like the new look. That color is soothing.

Your son is blessed to have you as his mom. I like the idea of POPT from Debbie as well. Thanks for sharing it Debbie.

For my readers who might not know the WHOLE story, Debbie is former Air Force herself and her son David is considering the Air Force.
We met on an AF parents support site we are both on.....

WELL... Deb, he DID hit the ball with only that good eye, and IF his life takes him to the AF I have no doubt his determination will carry him on through this too.

THANKS you for the input on POPT. You will see I added a picture of a wrist band that I ordered for Kevin today with the POPT on the band !!!

Hey Charles... my former NAVY friend. ;)

Thanks for dropping by. The news design was a template choice. Not something I actually designed myself, and NORMALLY I don't like change... lol But I'm liking this change.

HI Patricia, My faithful friend :)
Just start with the blessing cards for now,
and see where that leads you.
We all can DO MORE to support those around us.
My nextdoor neighbor Lil is an elderly gal who lost a daughter of hers last year.
She died very quickly of a bacterial infection.
Becky was just in her very early 50's. On Feb 28 it will be one year.... IF you could hold Lil and her family in your thoughts I would appreciate it.

Thanks to you too on the format change.

CHANGE IS GOOD - CHANGE IS GOOD. I might need a wristband of that one for ME.

Love to ALL
Deb

Deb,

You are a sweetie for mentioning me and I thank you so much! I love the wristband! They didn't have those back then LOL.

I joined the Blessing Way Challenge and love the website! I think it would be easier to upload the blessing cards to staples.com and have them print for me and I can pick up at local store. I think cheaper than printer ink!

I will keep Lil and her family in my prayers of course!

Not a coincidence you put a garden here. I was thinking Friday of how David is a little flower I had grown from seed and have watched him grow and nurtured him and now he is being transplanted to a place I can't enjoy looking at, watering, weeding, etc. I guess an empty hole in the garden is like an empty nest...

He has told me repeatedly I am "too aware" of him. Gosh, Mom...most of my friends Mom's aren't as into their kids. Well, duh? I enjoy watching him grow and change! (I think most Moms do, of course)

Awwwwwwww Debbie, I understand your garden comment.
The best way to look at all of this, is with gratitude. Be grateful that your son is in good health and even has the choice of going into the military. Be grateful for the relationship you've had with your son and how level headed he is.
Sometimes... even with the best of parenting, kids just so OFF path, BIG TIME. Focus on the fact that your job in parenting him is taking a new and different path. His Mama will ALWAYS be important to him. The tighter you hold now, the more he will resist. The best thing you can do, is give him his wings and HAVE FAITH.
